Dungy: Harrison Would Fit With Bears

Sep 12, 2014 12:33 PM

Tony Dungy isn't saying the Bears need help at receiver, but he'd give Marvin Harrison an endorsement if Chicago coach Lovie Smith asked. "I think he definitely can play, and I would encourage Lovie to sign him if they had an opening," Dungy said Wednesday on the "Waddle & Silvy" show on ESPN 1000. Dungy coached Harrison for seven seasons in Indianapolis.

McNabb: Signing Burress Worth A Shot

Nov 18, 2014 6:20 AM

Donovan McNabb believes that the Eagles should entertain the idea of signing Plaxico Burress. "I don't think he would hurt," McNabb told the New York Daily News. "We have some great guys here at our receiver position but whatever you can do to enhance the team, you would look into it." If convicted on gun charges, Burress faces 3-1/2 to 15 years in prison.

McAllister Is Healthy, Hopes To Find Team

Oct 31, 2014 12:50 PM

Deuce McAllister is healthy and remains optimistic about his chances of catching on with an NFL team. McAllister, 30, told the Times-Picayune that he is healthy enough to pass a physical. He faces a sizeable hurdle though, as he was suspended for the first four games of the season in the high-profile "StarCaps" case. "It's kind of tough to get with a team knowing you won't be there for the first four games. That's kind of tough to deal with on my end," McAllister said.

Favre To Sign With Vikings

Feb 17, 2014 7:16 AM

Brett Favre will sign a contract with the Minnesota Vikings for between $10 million to $12 million, according to sources that spoke with ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen. Favre will need to still pass a physical. RealGM Note: The Vikings have pursued Favre throughout the offseason and the club feels they are a true quarterback away from being a true Super Bowl contender. Minnesota is also struggling to fill the Metrodome and also build a new stadium for when their current lease expires in 2011.

Marvin Harrison Wants To Play Again

Marvin Harrison would like to play in the NFL this season, if given the opportunity. Harrison hasn't received much interest on the free agent market partially because many teams weren't sure if the wide receiver even wanted to play. The Titans and a number of other teams have inquired about Harrison, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

McNabb Explains Role In Vick Signing

Sep 30, 2014 10:02 PM

Donovan McNabb explained how the Eagles decided to pursue Michael Vick. "In mid-July before training camp started, I asked Coach (Andy) Reid if we would be interested in having Michael join the Eagles and explained why I thought it would be good for both Michael and the team (Andy and I have an understanding that we will never discuss the details of our private exchanges)," writes McNabb. "There was another time during camp where the subject was brought up again by me. It was not until Kevin Kolb was injured last Monday that I was given any indication that something might happen with Michael. "I wanted Michael to come to Philadelphia and, in any way he can, help bring a Super Bowl championship to the City. There is no doubt he is a uniquely talented player that can add to our offensive weapons. For him personally, I want to see him continue to grow as a person, spend time with his family and re-establish himself as a leader on and off the field. Due to the nature of what happened and the attention it has received, it may not always be easy for him but he seems up for the challenge. Fortunately, with a tremendous individual like Tony Dungy in his corner, he will have the support he needs. "I thank Andy for considering my suggestion. I also thank Mr. Lurie for taking the time to talk with Michael and making what he thought was a very difficult decision."
